Baby Shower Game Ideas by AGATA
Baby showers are a great way to celebrate the arrival of a new baby and shower the expectant parents with love and gifts. However, a great baby shower also involves fun games and activities to keep everyone engaged and entertained. Here are eight baby shower game ideas that you can play at your next baby shower:
1. Bingo
How to:
So we have probably all played bingo. This is a great way to break the ice with your guests! Let the party begin with some mingling. You can create your own or download a template! Make sure to add baby-themed items to the cards such as “pacifier/dummy,” “baby bottle,” “diaper,” and “stroller/pram”.
Why not make it a little more personal and ask your guests to find out a little bit more about each other? For example, you can put things on the bingo sheet that they will have to find. E.g., one of the boxes could say “find a person who used to suck their thumb”, or “find someone who was born in the same month as you”. This is a different more personal bingo board. And is a great way to get to know people at the baby shower. Your guests might already all know each other, and that is also fine! While your guests might know each other they may not know everything about each other as children.
What you will need:
- Bingo sheet
- Pens
2. Guess the Food
How to:
Buy some baby food and serve it to the parents. Or you can have teams of a couple of people trying to decide what the food is. Split the teams into mom vs dad. Ask them to guess what food they are eating. You can get creative and make your own. However, for quick and simple games you probably want to buy something quickly.
What you will need:
- Baby food – decide how many rounds you want. If you want 3 rounds then get 3 different foods e.g., mixed veggies, meat options, and dessert/fruit options.
- Containers – put the food into containers or on a plate. If you are in a restaurant you can ask someone to heat up the baby food. If you are at home you can put it in the microwave. Or just serve it cold if you want to.
- Spoons
Guess the food was played at my baby shower! While it may be a good idea, this is really one to be careful with! Personally, I do not know whether I had an aversion to food at that point or whether the shop-bought baby food actually tasted that bad. Needless to say, it was enough for me to decide that I do not want to give my baby shop-bought ready-made baby food. And, I hope that I stick to this for as long as I can. That being said, my partner enjoyed the food, so perhaps it was okay and it was just be being pregnant and having an aversion to something!
3. Quick Diaper Change
How to:
Ask the parents or family members to put a diaper on a teddy bear. Before they do, blindfold them and make it a little bit harder! Time them on how long it takes.
What you will need:
- Diaper
- Teddy
- Blindfold
4. Diaper Descriptions
How to:
Ask the guests to write on a diaper! You can ask them to write: something funny to get you through your late-night changes, to write some advice, or something that will help pick you up!
What you will need:
- Diapers
- Pens
For this one, I would recommend getting different-sized diapers but for sure getting diapers that may be a bit bigger. The baby can grow into it then and the parents can use the diaper. Getting smaller diapers may mean that they may not be used as the baby could be born bigger.
5. The Guessing Game: Due Date, Name, Gender
How to:
If the parents have not already given some of these details away. You can ask people to guess the due date, name, gender, and size of the baby.
Things you will need:
- Due Date Guessing:
- You can do a potluck – where you ask people to predict the due date and whoever wins gets the whole pot.
- Name Guessing:
- Ask guests to put name ideas on a post-it note and pin it to a board
- Or ask guests to write their predictions on a whiteboard (make sure you take a picture of it!)
- Gender Guessing:
- On the invitation to the baby shower ask people to wear blue if they think it’s a boy or pink if they think it’s a girl.
6. Mommy or Daddy
How to:
So this one can get quite creative! You can make it as personal or generic as you like. You can ask both parents the answers to these questions ahead of the baby shower!
For example, you can ask questions like:
- Who was born first?
- Who will change the most diapers?
- Who is going to cry first when the baby arrives?
- Who is going to be stricter?
- Who will take the most photos?
- Who will sing the baby more lullabies?
- Who will spoil the baby the most?
- Who is going to spoil the baby the most?
- Who will be in charge?
- Who is most likely to act like a kid?
You can then ask everyone at the party to answer these questions on a piece of paper! Then, compare the answers!
What you will need:
- A set of questions to ask the parents ahead of time
- A printout of the same set of questions for your guests
- Pens
7. Who Knows Mommy Best
How to:
Ask the mommy-to-be some questions, and then ask your guests to write down or shout out their answers.
Again, you can be as creative as you wish! The better you know the mommy-to-be, the more specific your questions can be. Here are some ideas of questions to ask to get you started:
- Name mommy’s food cravings
- How many children does mommy want?
- Mommy’s favourtie thing about pregnancy
- Mommy’s least favourtie thing about pregnancy
- Baby’s due date
- How long will it take for mommy to have a drink after birth?
- What is the first meal mommy will ask for after giving birth?
- What is the first thing mommy will do without the baby?
- How long will it take for mommy to leave the baby with someone else?
What you will need:
- A set of questions, if you are going to get your guests to shout out the answers then that is all you need!
- A printout of questions
- Pens
8. Baby Facts Game

Find some baby facts on the internet, print the questions off and then call out the answers once everyone has had a go.
